Hepatitis A

It is an inflammation of the liver, causing mild to severe infection. It spreads through contaminated food or water or direct communication with a contaminated person.

The symptoms are:

• Flu-like fever
• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Loss of appetite
• Dark urine
• Joint pain and more

There is a vaccine available for Hepatitis A.

Hepatitis B

It is a viral infection affecting the liver. It can lead to liver damage, cirrhosis, and also, cancer. It spreads through blood, body fluids, or from mother to child.

The Symptoms include:

• Fatigue
• Abdominal pain
• Fever
• Nausea
• Dark urine
• Clay-coloured bowel

There is a vaccine available for Hepatitis B.

Hepatitis C

It is another viral infection affecting the liver. It spreads through blood contact, often through needles or transfusions. It can also lead to chronic liver disease and even cancer.

The Symptoms are:

• Fatigue
• Loss of appetite
• Bruising easily
• Bleeding easily
• Itchy skin
• Dark urine
• Jaundice or yellowing skin

Though there are no vaccines against Hepatitis C virus, it can be treated with antiviral medications.
