Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) is a life-threatening rhythm disorder that originates in the heart’s lower chambers (ventricles) and is often linked to structural abnormalities. The other most common causes include a previous history of heart attack or the weakening of the heart muscle.
Since these patients always have a high risk of developing VT in the future, we assess the risk of sudden death in individual patients.
Treatment options:
Immediate Intervention: medications or electrical shocks during VT episodes
Risk assessment: identifying patients at high risk of sudden death
Defibrillators: implantable devices for high-risk patients
RF ablation: reduces VT episodes and prevents defibrillator shocks
