  - Often caused by dry air, nasal trauma, or underlying medical conditions

Common Throat Conditions include:

Cough
Tonsillitis
Tonsils are removed in case of:
- Recurrent sore throats
- Large enough to block the airway
- Quinsy is an abscess that develops alongside the tonsil
- Malignancy
Symptoms of tonsillitis in adults are similar to symptoms in children, and may include:
- Sore throat
- Pain when swallowing
- Red, swollen tonsils
- White or yellow patches on the tonsils
- Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck
- Bad breath
- Scratchy voice
- Earache
