                        Advanced Neuro Intervention & Neurosurgery
Neurosurgery, or neurological surgery, covers a wide range of neuro surgeries for conditions involving the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system. At Zydus, we are recognised as the best brain surgery hospital in India, equipped with cutting-edge technology and an expert team to deliver safe, effective, and personalised care.
Our team routinely performs both routine and complex procedures, from brain tumor surgery and spinal tumour surgery to highly specialised interventions like awake craniotomy with brain mapping. Patients and families rely on us as the best hospital for brain surgery because of our focus on quality, safety, and long-term outcomes.
Neuro Surgeries
Each patient is carefully evaluated to decide whether conservative management, image-guided therapy, or open brain surgery is most appropriate.
Brain tumours (benign and malignant):
May need a brain operation, biopsy, or microscopic surgery for pressure relief and treatment planning. Options include minimally invasive approaches or full brain surgery types, depending on the case.
Spinal benign & malignant tumours:
The specialist treats both benign and malignant tumours after a detailed understanding.
Aneurysms and AVMs:
Treated via catheter-based procedures such as coiling, flow-diversion, or, in some cases, open brain surgery.
Acute stroke and clots:
Selected patients may need blood clot in brain surgery, brain clot surgery, or minimally invasive thrombectomy. Severe bleeding may require brain haemorrhage surgery or brain hemorrhage surgery. In emergencies, brain stroke surgery restores blood flow.
Head trauma:
Urgent cases may need surgical management of head injury or traumatic brain injury surgery to relieve pressure, bleeding, or swelling.
Hydrocephalus:
Managed through brain shunt surgery or endoscopic procedures. Severe swelling may require a brain swelling operation.
Refractory epilepsy:
Evaluated with video EEG, electroencephalogram, and imaging. Some patients undergo epilepsy-related neuro surgeries for seizure control.
Functional and pain disorders:
Conditions such as trigeminal neuralgia (with typical trigeminal neuralgia symptoms) may be treated with trigeminal neuralgia treatment, including microvascular decompression, stereotactic radiosurgery, or stereotactic surgery. Other cases, like hemifacial spasm, may need botulinum toxin injections.
When to Seek Urgent Neurosurgical Care
Seek immediate care for:
-

Dramatic loss of movement or speech, sudden severe headache, sudden loss of vision, sudden confusion, or a seizure lasting longer than 5 minutes.
 -

Any head injury with loss of consciousness, worsening drowsiness, repeated vomiting, or new weakness.

Tests and Imaging Before Surgery
To ensure accuracy and safety before every brain operation or spinal cord surgery, we use:
-

High-resolution CT and MRI scans for brain, tumour, or spine evaluation
 -

Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) & 3D angiography for blood vessels
 -

Electromyography and nerve conduction study for muscle and nerve evaluation
 -

Electroencephalogram and video EEG for seizure workup
 -

Carotid and vertebral doppler and transcranial doppler for vascular studies
 -

Intra-operative tools: brain mapping, neuronavigation, ultrasound, and monitoring
