Osteoporosis
-
Osteoporosis is a condition mainly caused by the weakened bones. Here the bones become so hollow and brittle that any amount of stress can cause a further damage or a break.
-
Living tissue, such as bone, is continuously being replaced by new one. When new bone is not growing to replace lost bone, the condition known as osteoporosis develops. This is very common in elderly Indian women. Bones usually start becoming weak after they encounter menopause. One of the main reasons for weak bones is deficiency of calcium and Vitamin D3. This can cause easy fractures as well. Usually weight-bearing exercise, a nutritious diet, and medications can improve weakened bones or stop the bone loss.
