Professional Bio:

• Dr. Tejas Thakker is an accomplished Orthopedic Surgeon with an experience of over a decade. He treats all types of orthopedic ailments though has a special interest in orthopedic trauma. The spectrum of injuries includes all complex fractures and polytrauma including fixation of pelvis and acetabular fractures, Intra articular fracture and non-union. He specializes and has a passion for treating and managing fractures with best possible advanced methods, minimally invasive techniques, which can give maximum outcome with minimum tissue handling. Having trained in some of the busiest and biggest tertiary orthopedic institutions in the world, he has a great deal of experience with these kinds of injuries.

Fellowships:

• Orthopedic: AO Fellowship- From May 13 to June 22, 2007, he was the recipient of an AO Trauma Fellowship at Kanttosspital in Chur, Switzerland where he acquired expertise in advanced locking plate application, challenging fracture care, particularly pelvic and acetabulum fractures, as well as fundamental AO principles. During the fellowship, Dr. Christoph Sommer served as the supervisor.
• OREF: Traveling fellowship- He was selected to receive the aforementioned fellowship, which ran from May to July 2005 where he made visits to the Ranavat Orthopedic Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, USA (Supervisor: Chitranjan Ranavat, MD) and the Hospital for Special Surgery, which is connected to Cornell University and Columbia University in New York, USA (Supervisor: David Helfet, MD).
• 47th International Postgraduate Training Programme in Medicine, Tel-Aviv University, Israel- Throughout his 11-week fellowship, he worked with Prof. Salai Moshe and Dr. Michael Stein at the Orthopedic and Trauma departments of Beilinson Hospital, Rabin Medical Center, Petah Tikva, Israel where he was exposed to varieties of trauma surgeries mainly as well as cold orthopedic surgeries (assisted and performed). He was also a part of resuscitation team for trauma victims and EMS.
