- Dr. Mahesh D Patel is an esteemed surgical oncologist specializing in the Abdomen and Thoracic cancer. Abdomen or Gastro-Intestinal (GI) cancer is a term for the group of cancers that affect the digestive system. Dr. Mahesh Patel provides expert care in all types of thoracic cancer, including lung, esophageal, thymus, and mesothelioma. He is advancing innovative treatments and approaches that are less invasive than conventional procedures. His expertise involves Robotic G.I and Thoracic surgeries which include oesophagectomy, whipples and all Laparoscopic surgeries for G.I and thoracic malignancies as well as interventional endoscopy procedures like E.R.C.P Esophageal, Duodenal, Ileo colic and Colonic stentings. He has done over thousands of E.R.C.P procedures till date and has one of the largest series of thoracolaparoscopic esophagectomy post NACT/RT. He also specializes in esophagus, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, stomach and bowel (the bowel includes the small intestine, large intestine or colon and rectum).
