Our skin is able to replace old cells with new ones but this natural exfoliation begins to slow down as we age. With chemical peels, a solution of one or more exfoliating agents is applied on the face to remove the rough upper layer of the skin and to stimulate rejuvenation of new skin cells as a result of which we get tighter and smoother skin that is relatively free of lines and blemishes.
